Spotlight on Jayne E. Juvan, Esq.

Jayne E. Juvan, Esq., an attorney affliliated with Benesch Friedlander Coplan & Aronoff, LLP, is a member of the firm's Private Equity Group and Health Care Practice Group.  She focuses her practice on mergers and acquisitions and public and private debt and equity financings.  Because she has an affinity for the health care and life sciences industries, she focuses a significant portion of her practice on the representation of private equity funds in connection with health care and life sciences investments.  She also represents health care companies such as manufacturers and distributors of pharmaceuticals, retail and institutional pharmacies, hospitals and health systems, physician groups, long term care providers and ancillary service providers in connection with a wide variety of health care regulatory matters such as compliance with fraud and abuse laws, state licensure laws, HIPAA, and Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement laws.  

Ms. Juvan graduated from the Capital University Law School, summa cum laude, and was the Salutatorian of her graduating class.  She also received a Bachelor's of Arts in Philosophy with a Minor in Pre-Law from Kent State University.

Ms. Juvan is known for being a former Editor-in-Chief of the Capital University Law Review.  In addition to publishing four volumes of the Law Review, Ms. Juvan was also a founder of the Law Review's Wells Conference on Adoption Law.  Currently, she is a member of the American Health Lawyer's Association, the American Bar Association, the Ohio State Bar Association and the Cleveland Bar Association.  She is admitted to practice law in the State of Ohio.

In addition to her health care practice, Ms. Juvan also dedicates a significant amount of her time to pro bono assistance and is very active in the community.  She is a member of the board of the Friends of the Gathering Place, a non-profit organization designed to meet the spiritual and holistic needs of cancer patients, and she has participated in the Cleveland Bar Association's 3Rs program, a program that places lawyers in classrooms at inner-city Cleveland schools.  Ms. Juvan lives an active lifestyle, runs in long-distance races, and holds a black belt in Tae Kwon Do.
